🧠 About the Quantum in Practice series

Discover the Quantum in Practice series, a continuing program of technical trainings dedicated to exploring the technologies, tools, and real-world applications shaping today’s quantum-computing ecosystem.

Each session features a leading quantum technology provider presenting their platforms, showcasing demonstrations, and guiding participants through practical exercises that illustrate how quantum computing can be applied to industrial and scientific challenges.

The series is structured in two complementary parts:

  • a technology introduction open to all audiences, offering an overview of the hardware, software, and potential use cases;
  • and an expert segment, focused on solving a specific problem using the provider’s quantum-computing environment.

Whether you are a researcher, developer, or industry professional, Quantum in Practice offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on insight, technical know-how, and a global perspective on the rapidly evolving quantum landscape.

📅 Session 2 – QPerfect : Traffic Routing Optimization: A Quantum Approach

🗓 Date: Wednesday May, 6th, 2026
🕓 Time: 14:00 – 17:00 CET
📍 Format: Online (Webex)
🎙 Speakers: Aymane Hassani, Quantum Application Engineer at QPerfect, bridges theory and practice to help users unlock the full potential of MIMIQ, QPerfect’s high-fidelity quantum emulator.

👨‍💻 Presentation Summary

Traffic routing optimization is a combinatorial problem that becomes exponentially harder to solve as networks scale. This session guides participants from classical routing methods to quantum solutions, covering:

-Graph-based modeling and classical solvers
-Translating problems into QUBO formulations
-Mapping QUBO problems to quantum circuit

By the end of the session, participants will have a concrete understanding of how to bridge the gap between classical and quantum approaches to optimization, and the tools to start experimenting on their own.

🧠 Software Requirements

mimiqcircuits (QPerfect) — A Python library for composing quantum circuits and submitting jobs to MIMIQ, making it the primary interface for interacting with the emulator programmatically. GitHub: github.com/qperfect-io/mimiqcircuits-python | Documentation: docs.qperfect.io/mimiqcircuits-python | Install: pip install mimiqcircuits

Quantanium (QPerfect) —  A high-performance statevector simulator implemented in C++ with a Python wrapper, integrated with the MIMIQ API. It is optimized for fast, exact simulation of quantum circuits and serves as the statevector backend within the MIMIQ ecosystem. PyPI: pypi.org/project/quantanium | Install: pip install quantanium

* Preparatory Materials

No preparatory materials are required to attend this session. It is designed to be self-contained and accessible to participants with varying levels of familiarity with quantum computing. That said, attendees who wish to get a head start are encouraged to go through the following introductory notebook, which walks through the basics of MIMIQ and mimiqcircuits in a hands-on way:

⚛️ About QPerfect:

QPerfect is a French deeptech startup founded in 2023 and based in Strasbourg, focused on building quantum middleware that bridges the gap between quantum algorithm developers and hardware manufacturers. Its flagship MIMIQ emulator uses advanced tensor network methods to conduct high-fidelity, large-scale simulations of quantum algorithms, while its Quantum Logical Unit (QLU) provides the control layer needed to keep quantum systems stable and scalable.

Working closely with the aQCess neutral atom program at the European Center for Quantum Technologies (CESQ), QPerfect targets fault-tolerant quantum computing through key industry partnerships: developing one-shot signatures with BTQ, GPU-accelerated hybrid quantum-classical emulation with Quobly, and quantum error correction modeling with QuEra. In November 2025 BTQ exercised its option to acquire QPerfect, which is pending approval.
