🧠 About the Quantum in Practice series

Discover the Quantum in Practice series, a continuing program of technical trainings dedicated to exploring the technologies, tools, and real-world applications shaping today’s quantum-computing ecosystem.

Each session features a leading quantum technology provider presenting their platforms, showcasing demonstrations, and guiding participants through practical exercises that illustrate how quantum computing can be applied to industrial and scientific challenges.

The series is structured in two complementary parts:

  • a technology introduction open to all audiences, offering an overview of the hardware, software, and potential use cases;
  • and an expert segment, focused on solving a specific problem using the provider’s quantum-computing environment.

Whether you are a researcher, developer, or industry professional, Quantum in Practice offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on insight, technical know-how, and a global perspective on the rapidly evolving quantum landscape.

📅 Session 4 – Quobly: Quantum Reservoir Computing on Silicon Spin qubits

🗓 Date: Wednesday June 10th, 2026
🕓 Time: 14:00 – 16:00 CET
📍 Format: Online (Webex)
🎙 Speakers: « Alain Champenois is a Quantum Computing Application Expert at Quobly, dedicated to exploring quantum algorithms and their industrial applications. Drawing on 20+ years of experience in tech innovation (AI, IoT) and an ISAE-SUPAERO background, he connects scientific theory with tangible impact. Formerly Product Owner of Quobly’s Spin qubit quantum processors, he currently teaches quantum algorithms at Université Grenoble Alpes. »

👨‍💻 Presentation Summary

« Quantum Reservoir Computing (QRC) is emerging as a powerful paradigm for leveraging the complex, high-dimensional dynamics of quantum systems to solve non-linear processing tasks. By using a « reservoir » of coupled qubits, QRC can process temporal data with significantly lower training costs than standard (quantum) neural networks.

This talk is structured in two parts. First, I will introduce the core principles of Reservoir Computing and its transition to the quantum hardware domain. I will also detail the engineering methodology for designing high-performance circuit-based reservoirs.

Second, I will focus on the practical implementation of QRC for several use-cases, specifically temporal data prediction and showcasing simulated results on Silicon spin qubits. »

⚛️ About Quobly

Quobly is a pioneer in the development of a fault-tolerant quantum computer based on semiconductor qubits. With a breakthrough method, Quobly addresses both techno-scientific challenges as well as industrial production, paving the way for mass production of the millions of qubits essential for practical, large-scale quantum computers. Based in Grenoble, the startup is the result of 15 years of collaborative research between internationally recognized RTOs, CEA Leti and CNRS. Founded in 2022, Quobly has brought together a team of experts from the semiconductor industry and distinguished researchers in quantum technologies. In 2023, Quobly made headlines with a seed round of 19 million euros, establishing a new record for seed funding of a European startup in the quantum sector.

Today, Quobly employs +100 people.

👉 The Quantum in Practice series is organized by CC-FR in partnership with the Teratec initiative TQCI.
