⚛️ Quantum in Practice #1: PASQAL
🧠 About the Quantum in Practice series
Discover the Quantum in Practice series, a continuing program of technical trainings dedicated to exploring the technologies, tools, and real-world applications shaping today’s quantum-computing ecosystem.
Each session features a leading quantum technology provider presenting their platforms, showcasing demonstrations, and guiding participants through practical exercises that illustrate how quantum computing can be applied to industrial and scientific challenges.
The series is structured in two complementary parts:
- a technology introduction open to all audiences, offering an overview of the hardware, software, and potential use cases;
- and an expert segment, focused on solving a specific problem using the provider’s quantum-computing environment.
Whether you are a researcher, developer, or industry professional, Quantum in Practice offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on insight, technical know-how, and a global perspective on the rapidly evolving quantum landscape.
📅 Session 1 – PASQAL: From Neutral Atoms to Use Cases with Pasqal Quantum Computers
🗓 Date: Thursday, December 11, 2025
🕓 Time: 14:00 – 17:00 CET
📍 Format: Online (Webex)
🎙 Speakers: Vincent Martin & Krisztian Benyo, PASQAL
👨💻 Presentation Summary
After a brief introduction to PASQAL and its technology, the session will focus on Pulser, a Python package for programming quantum computations on PASQAL’s hardware.
A particular emphasis will be given to Pulser’s Maximum Independent Set (MIS) library, which provides a convenient way to solve MIS problems on quantum processors.
After a short break, the speakers will introduce a real-world industrial problem that can be formulated as an MIS instance.
Participants will then engage in a series of hands-on coding exercises, gradually building an understanding of Pulser’s capabilities and exploring its features interactively.
🧠 Software Requirements
Participants are encouraged to install the Pulser library and its MIS extension in advance:

⚛️ About PASQAL:
PASQAL builds Programmable Quantum Simulators and Quantum Computers based on 2D arrays of neutral atoms. Neutral atoms trapped in optical tweezers and controlled with laser beams form ideal, indistinguishable quantum systems capable of realizing superposition and entanglement, the foundations of quantum information processing.
This highly scalable platform leverages decades of physics research leading to breakthroughs such as Bose–Einstein condensation and cavity quantum electrodynamics. PASQAL designs and develops its own lasers, vacuum systems, electronic controls, and software stack, making individual atoms accessible to quantum programmers worldwide.

👉 The Quantum in Practice series is organized by CC-FR in partnership with the Teratec initiative TQCI.
